Phan Hiển and Khánh Thi Rarely Show Their Home Interior but Frequently “Check In” at Their Lush, Movie-Like Garden

During social distancing, while travel was limited, Phan Hiển and Khánh Thi’s family still had the perfect place to relax and take dreamy photos — a massive indoor foliage garden right at home. Not only does this garden provide a peaceful, green living space that harmonizes with nature, but it also holds significant economic value.

Back in 2020, Phan Hiển created a rose garden to fulfill his wife’s passion for flowers. The garden was named "BiNa," a combination of their children’s names, Kubi and Anna. Reportedly, the young father spent around 100 million VND (approx. $4,000) to build and upgrade the rose garden, including plant costs and other expenses.

The rooftop rose garden was a romantic gift from Phan Hiển to Khánh Thi. Alongside roses, the garden also features other flowers like moss roses (Portulaca).

Later, the couple’s friends suggested they try growing ornamental foliage plants. In recent years, foliage plants have gained popularity not only for interior decoration but also for their economic potential, making them highly sought after on the market. This allowed the dance sport champions to enjoy the hobby of plant keeping while also learning more about foliage plants as a future business opportunity.

Phan Hiển arranges his plants in well-lit areas with plenty of natural sunlight. The room for the plants even features a large skylight. Each day, he spends about 30 minutes caring for them.

The garden is striking, filled with rare and variegated foliage plants — including fenestrated and lobed types — many with impressively large and uniquely shaped leaves. Several species of Monstera from South America, currently trending in the plant enthusiast community, are also present in their collection.

Variegated foliage plants in Vietnam can range from tens of millions to even billions of VND (thousands to tens of thousands of USD). These types of plants are sometimes called “leaf-count plants” because their value is often determined by the number of leaves. Since propagation typically happens by cutting from the mother plant, each leaf corresponds to a node that can sprout into a new plant when separated.

The stunning garden has become a familiar backdrop in many of the couple’s photos and videos. The total value of the entire garden is estimated to be in the billions of VND.

It also serves as a daily living space for the family — a play area for the kids, a venue for birthday BBQs, and even an impromptu outdoor hair salon, as seen in their latest shared video. The vibe? Totally chill!
